Examples of Activities Designed in the Language Classroom Using the Internet

The majority of the times professors utilizes technology as part of their teaching strategies. Educational software or any other kinds of technology are tools for the teaching and learning process of students and instructors who want to enhance their skills. Educational technology facilitates learning by improving performance in the learning environment. In the video we could point out some ideas regarding this technology; it is perceived to be over-hyped and under-performing in schools that have good students and teachers. Moreover, constructivism and critical thinking are very important to take into account when planning a class because we can rely on the experiences we have lived to adjust the new ones with the knowledge we already have. It impacts learning, especially when they are looking for a meaning in regards of understanding something.

That is way, we could evaluate in a better way if we think critically. Some characteristics we could consider when planning a class have to do with the motivation the students have for new information. The effective lesson and environment play an important role as well because the instruction that the professor gives will generate the result we are looking for. Like the children in the video, learners need inspiration and motivation. They are curious and willing to learn, but they need to be addressed correctly so the constructivism and critical thinking are factors that cannot be ignored.

How People Learn and what might technology have to do with it

One of the videos states what technology deserves to be. Some ways teachers take advantage of their classroom. Dynamic presentations are part of different steps you could consider, power point presentations, videos that will enhance background knowledge for students. Web searchers, Wikipedia and other search engines will help students to get information for their tasks. Phase 3 explains how communication, collaboration, and creation are part of the environment we share with students. We have to think about students as creators of communication. We have to stop thinking as students as producers of information. The key of everything is a product, due to research papers, movie analysis, post casts, etc. Students have to expose what they have learnt to different audiences, district, school, etc. There are many types of software that students can use, but they must know what they can use or not. Students need to work with a wider audience, and they can act as reviewers.
Phase 3: Feedback Cycle – Communication, Collaboration and Creation

  • Student as producer.
  • Student as publisher.
  • Student as audience.
  • Student as peer reviewer.
Technology can be introduced to curricula, it also depends on how you work on it with your students and all the tools you can use.
Why we need to teach technology in school?
More efficient ways to manipulate environment, new technologies help us to work on, innovation of technologies affects everything that surrounds, that is why we cannot be left behind. It is important everyone learns how to use all this tool in learning tasks, we have to learn how to manipulate them and being able to select the ones that are better to use, depending on the goal we one to achieve. We have analyze information carefully and learn how to disregard what it is not important.
In terms of how people learn and what technology might have to do with it, we should point out how to transform teaching and learning in schools. Technology can support teachers’ instruction by means of technology. That is why we have to keep in mind:
Learning occurs in context because without an appropriate context, comprehension and learning are difficult and unlikely to succeed very well. Learners may feel uncomfortable with unfamiliar material, as you attempt to make sense of that sentence because they often make contrast with previous knowledge background.
Learning is social because students benefit from hearing perspectives other than their own, and they may bring different strengths to a complex and lengthy activity. I think social interaction with peers is very important, because they will not feel threaten to say something in case they are shy or have any difficulty to understand a topic.
Learning is reflective because they learn how to analyze information while they are learning. They get feedback about their thinking, whether that feedback comes from within, a teacher, or a peer. That enhances to think critically and reach deeper understandings.

Technology, instructional technology, technology for learning, educational technology and use of technology in Education

The seven principles of teaching with technology
When we talk about the seven principles of teaching with technology, we may think how educational research teach us how to use technology to improve students learning. There are lots of teaching and learning activities that will turn out helpful to our students regarding results and feedback. The most important is how we take advantage of all the facilities we have for students.
The Seven Principles were published by Chickering & Gamson in the AAHE Bulletin in 1987. It states a popular framework to evalute teaching in traditional lessons. The most important that we have to take into account is the:
1.    The faculty-student interaction
2.    Student-student collaboration
3.    Active Learning
4.    Prompt Feedback
5.    Time on task
6.    Higher expectations
7.    Value diverse ways of learning
The most important to do is how to learn to use your classroom to different purposes and these principles will help us to evaluate teaching to understand better which are the needs for our students or classrooms.

Seven Principles of Effective Teaching: A Practical Lens for Evaluating Online Courses
Technology
It is a practical application of human knowledge for the design of machines. Includes software and hardware and it is used all over the world. In terms of advantages, we may consider social networks, a completely world access, faster transactions, etc. On the other hand, disadvantages may be related to laziness, lack of critical thinking and so on.
Technology for learning
This is how we use technological means to support learning. It is how we use different sorts of tools to enhance of learning while utilizing technology in every way possible.
Instructional technology
Getting training as to use technology to teach others.
Educational Technology
It is the study and ethical practice of facilitation learning and improving performance by creating, using, and managing appropriate technological processes and resources.  To know where to locate information
