Examples of Activities Designed in the Language Classroom Using the Internet

The majority of the times professors utilizes technology as part of their teaching strategies. Educational software or any other kinds of technology are tools for the teaching and learning process of students and instructors who want to enhance their skills. Educational technology facilitates learning by improving performance in the learning environment. In the video we could point out some ideas regarding this technology; it is perceived to be over-hyped and under-performing in schools that have good students and teachers. Moreover, constructivism and critical thinking are very important to take into account when planning a class because we can rely on the experiences we have lived to adjust the new ones with the knowledge we already have. It impacts learning, especially when they are looking for a meaning in regards of understanding something.

That is way, we could evaluate in a better way if we think critically. Some characteristics we could consider when planning a class have to do with the motivation the students have for new information. The effective lesson and environment play an important role as well because the instruction that the professor gives will generate the result we are looking for. Like the children in the video, learners need inspiration and motivation. They are curious and willing to learn, but they need to be addressed correctly so the constructivism and critical thinking are factors that cannot be ignored.

  1. I agree that it was very interesting to see that schools with a lot of technology at their display do not really take advantage of it, and that other schools with no or bad teachers and no technology, will take the most advantage of it when they are being provided with only one computer.
It is also kind of sad, because it seems that the ones who already have everything are a lot harder to motivate- although it should be the other way around.
So I have to say that I agree; schools with no resources and no or bad teachers should be the first to receive technology.

  2. A comment on the blog- I love it! Maybe it would make it more interesting and easier to read if you would separate the paragraphs… ;-)
