One of the videos states what technology deserves to be. Some ways teachers take advantage of their classroom. Dynamic presentations are part of different steps you could consider, power point presentations, videos that will enhance background knowledge for students. Web searchers, Wikipedia and other search engines will help students to get information for their tasks. Phase 3 explains how communication, collaboration, and creation are part of the environment we share with students. We have to think about students as creators of communication. We have to stop thinking as students as producers of information. The key of everything is a product, due to research papers, movie analysis, post casts, etc. Students have to expose what they have learnt to different audiences, district, school, etc. There are many types of software that students can use, but they must know what they can use or not. Students need to work with a wider audience, and they can act as reviewers.
Phase 3: Feedback Cycle – Communication, Collaboration and Creation
- Student as producer.
- Student as publisher.
- Student as audience.
- Student as peer reviewer.
Technology can be introduced to curricula, it also depends on how you work on it with your students and all the tools you can use.
Why we need to teach technology in school?
More efficient ways to manipulate environment, new technologies help us to work on, innovation of technologies affects everything that surrounds, that is why we cannot be left behind. It is important everyone learns how to use all this tool in learning tasks, we have to learn how to manipulate them and being able to select the ones that are better to use, depending on the goal we one to achieve. We have analyze information carefully and learn how to disregard what it is not important.
In terms of how people learn and what technology might have to do with it, we should point out how to transform teaching and learning in schools. Technology can support teachers’ instruction by means of technology. That is why we have to keep in mind:
Learning occurs in context because without an appropriate context, comprehension and learning are difficult and unlikely to succeed very well. Learners may feel uncomfortable with unfamiliar material, as you attempt to make sense of that sentence because they often make contrast with previous knowledge background.
Learning is social because students benefit from hearing perspectives other than their own, and they may bring different strengths to a complex and lengthy activity. I think social interaction with peers is very important, because they will not feel threaten to say something in case they are shy or have any difficulty to understand a topic.
Learning is reflective because they learn how to analyze information while they are learning. They get feedback about their thinking, whether that feedback comes from within, a teacher, or a peer. That enhances to think critically and reach deeper understandings.
